In a recent issue of the journal Nature, researchers are found to be unlocking many of the mysteries of aging and identifying number of genes that affect aging
This fight of Anti-Aging is not a new idea. The ancient Egyptians and the Chinese were the first to document their attempts to halt the relentless march of time dating as early as 4000 BC. Records of ingredients used by both genders noted the effects of certain types of herbs, mineral treatments, diet and exercise on the condition of the skin, all destined to stop the inevitable first wrinkles and keep young and beautiful.
But the study of anti aging techniques isn't just vanity - it has developed over thousands of years into a complex study of molecular biology, botany and even philosophical and psychological research
People worldwide over the age of 60 want to retain some measure of youthfulness. Most people will say they do not mind getting older, they just don't want to look and feel old! By 2030 the number of people worldwide over the age of 60 is expected to reach more than one billion. There is the Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine providing continuing education credits for healthcare practitioners of all disciplines to advance in that field. Since the aesthetics field is market driven, we now have medical spas being used by men and women alike to, allergist providing botox injections. Today the myriad of products are being offer as "Anti-Aging" promising great things. Unfortunately are from the skin care industries that often do not have the in-house scientific research and development teams to actually go beyond dealing with the signs and symptoms of aging.
