Coping with Image, Identity and Inadequacy: New rules for women to live by

Family structure, upbringing, the media and society, all influence what we wear, how we think and how we perceive ourselves and others, which often comes into conflict with our natural way of being in the world. What woman hasn't faced insecurities (about issues real or imaged) that tell us we're not successful enough, thin enough or pretty enough? So we distract ourselves with "retail therapy" or we hide out in all black, loose, flow-y clothing. We eat too much, we overcompensate at work or at home, we smother or ignore our children, or get addicted to _________ (fill in the blank with your favorite bad habit).

Wearing multiple hats and always thinking we're not wearing them well enough sure puts on a lot of pressure (sometimes even pounds!). Adding some new perspective--and a healthy dose of acceptance--can help us deal more powerfully with certain stresses, improve our quality of life and help us experience unprecedented peace of mind.

How do you put a value on yourself?

We believe there is a difference in the marketplace between your self-esteem and your self-worth. Sure there are formulas to help you figure out what your time is worth. But what about the value of you, yourself?
